Here’s the github!!
https://github.com/Jamchin/Jamchin.github.io
The idea for this website came from my first year engineering course at Northeastern. We were tasked with making a site for all our projects, there weren’t any strict guidelines on whether to use google sites or other website makers, so I decided to try and make my own.
After some brief digging, I found that if you name a GitHub repo —Insert Username.github.io, you can effectively just chuck all of your code into the repository and have the site update every single time you push new code.
I think the biggest hurdle I overcame (besides learning flex box…) was how I wanted to structure everything on the main homepage. I wanted to something that would be able to pull in prospective employers without being too flashy or too informal.
And I think it’s kind of a hard thing to figure out because there is inherently no right answer. So instead of trying to guess, I did a little research on how others made their own personal websites, and I used my sketchbook to draw out some ideas for how I could put everything in.
